Research without a purpose serves to dilute the very purpose of the entire exercise.

If the point of requesting that research articles be written, then allocate suitable timeframes, specify appropriate personnel that are interested in working on them, allocate rewards… give incentives, recognition.

It shouldn’t be some half-assed attempt to appear intellectual.

Every report takes 10 minutes to prepare. Thats 10 minutes of my life that I feel I have absolutely lost. Taking a poop gives me more satisfaction than writing one of those research reports.

Sigh…. bitter with the sweet…

Freakishly frightening as a meeting was being held at the time of the tremors. Fortunately we’re still safe but I can’t imagine what its like for the people in Sumatra.

Disgusting management methods disgust me.

The point of throwing staff a bone only to take it away and yet expecting the staff to be still happily obedient puzzles me. which book of management tips are they referring to? It could be that everyone has been under the yoke of oppression for so long that they’re thankful for every meager scrap thrown to them.

My opinion of management becoming staff-centric really did a double-take today.

The ex-ex-prime minister will be on campus tomorrow to receive his Honorary Doctorate award,… the entire campus is undergoing upheavals and I can’t wait for the dust to settle.

A lot of times, we’ve planned to do stuff but never really got around to it. Today in a burst of spontaneity, we packed some gear and went off to Genting Highlands for a day trip. Its been long overdue and I think it was important for us to break free from the borders of Petaling Jaya for once.

The bus… bus 2,..

Being someone that would usually drive up Genting, I never knew about the really affordable rates they had. For a meager RM8.50 (one way) you could get a trip up to Gentings inclusive of a cable car ride! We opted for the travel package which came with free tickets to all the parks,.. indoor, outdoor, etc,..

Shitloads of people waiting for the cable car. The bus trip took 45 minutes as we managed to get a lunatic for a bus driver. Waiting for the cable car took 1 hour… and the cable car ride itself was about 20 minutes or so. We timed all this because we wanted to make sure we made it back to the bus station on time.

We finally made it up! with the tickets we bought, we could have went for a buffet lunch but WHO TRAVELS THAT FAR FOR A BUFFET? Some of the rides weren’t functional. I’m glad to say Genting Highlands is still cold and breezy. I stupidly wore shorts there which was bearable.

RM3.00 to feed the fish? The fish were fat enough as it were.

If you’re going to walk the entire park,.. DO NOT get on the paddle-boats. DO NOT race with other paddle-boats and DO NOT try to reverse into the jetty.

All in all, a good FIRST trip!… Planning for a next one soon.

How else can can you explain making it compulsory for staff to attend a six-hour corporate talk on a saturday?

This is the first ‘demotivational talk’ I’m attending.

Its difficult to decide if Mat-Rempits are truly the embodiment of evil or just a misguided bunch of dumb people. If they are naturally evil, then the best method of removing the stain of their presence would be their immediate culling especially if a person has been intentionally hurt by them.

During my own research methodology classes, a colleague/class-mate posed this question to our professor, “If someone caused the death of a member of your family, would you want them dead?”

My professor, an Italian Buddhist, replied in the negative.To her, it isn’t our place to judge and sentence another sentient being.

Now I’ve always felt that wishing evil upon another is similar to the act of evil itself but despite that, my response to that question would be,”Yes. I would exact revenge from anyone that hurts my family whether intentionally or by deliberate inactivity.”

I would see that person dead.

I wonder what sort of person does that make me?

Back to the topic of Mat Rempits. If any one of them even blinks at you funny, lock your windows and mow as many of them down. Think of it as doing your civic duty for the environment and society.

I didn’t understand what that was about.

Why the big issue on teaching Science and Math in English when the Malay language is being mangled from within? I didn’t even realize there were still people who refered to themselves in the third-person. The writer also seems to have ShiFty-FiNgEr-sYndRoMe.

It just doesn’t do with all the politicizing of every single damn thing in the country.
