Evil thoughts

You ever wanted to do something you knew would be a bad idea and never actually worked up the evil initiative to do it? Well what if you did?

Bodysuit

Simple Carapace Bodysuit. The colors remind me of a Fremen Stillsuit but I think the end result seems more Adeptus Arbites instead.

After Yein pointed out and help fix a few problems with the female anatomy, I realize I really gotta practice more. :D Thats the problem with my foundation in drawing based on DragonballZ. Everything winds up having blocky huge muscles and its hard to get away from that.

Go to HELL!

Religious fanatism isn't restricted to the self-detonating virgin-seeking loons,

I came across some publications that dated quite some time back and there was a strong religious movement against fantasy games like Dungeons and Dragons (which was popular back then I believe). Take this for instance, this Christian comic actually portrays Dungeons & Dragons as a tool of the devil which would lead you down the path of suicide and damnation. Other articles like this even attempt to link murders, rape and suicide to playing D&D. Playing D&D opens a doorway from hell for the demons to inhibit your body!

It could be that the D&D back then was a lot more demonic than today's version but I doubt it.

I'm glad that today, we see less narrow-mindedness towards material of that nature, but then again, Harry Potter did get a lot of flack for promoting witch-craft and magic. People should stop blaming Gods or demons for the nasty shit humans commit and own up. I remember reading in a novel (can't remember who is it from) that says the evils mankind commits are far more creative than anything hell could ever cook up.

Global Game Jam 2011 down!

This post should really come before the last if I were stickler to the chronological order of things.

The Global Game Jam 2011 is OVER! And 19 bleary eyed game developers amble out of the MACCC Labs in Cyberjaya with dark eye-bags and vacant expressions on their faces. Still the sense of accomplishment is there as we managed to complete 4 games!

What is this,.. Global Game Jam you ask? Its 48 hours of pure awesomeness, simply put. 44 countries, 170 locations, 6500 participants, one weekend, one theme and almost 1500 games created! Our Malaysian session was organized by Buzz who is the local coordinator for the IGDA Chapter, Malaysia and was held in a secure MDeC facility hidden from the eyes of many.

19 participants pitched their ideas and 4 remained. The rest quickly hopped onto the project which interested them the most and we starting jamming. On Sunday, everyone was pretty much smelly, tired and sick of pizza but everyone managed to get their games up on the website.

Here's my team's game,.. hurriedly named Almost Extinct. (this has got to change XD)

Excellent art done by Kye Li! Show that girl the right side of the stylus and she goes crazy with it. An image that basically tell the entire story. It has dinosaurs in it, cavemen, raunchy sex scenes and excessive animal brutality.

The rest of the team (from the left to right),.. Joseph Gan, Me, David Tan, Ng Yun Bin, and Kye Li. My role in the project was as the designer and animator for the effects and background whereas Kye Li did work on the character sprites. Even Joseph had a hand in drawing characters which was a big change since he is usually THE programmer guy. Yun Bin did an excellent job and David stuck his hands in the balancing of the game. Sweet job you guys. Hope to see you next year!

We're working on making things a little more polished before we unleash it upon the mass public so stay tuuneed.
