It’s really second-hand news as he passed on on Tuesday, aged 69 but I figured this was something worth mentioning.
For those that don’t know or don’t really care, Gary Gygax was the father of Dungeons & Dragons. Big deal you might say, but I’m a huge fantasy fan and this sorta thing was what spurred my interest in the whole games, reading, drawing, etc. Those of you that know me can testify to my nerdiness.
Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings might have been the pinnacle of fantasy writing but Dungeons & Dragons was what made the whole thing fun. It’s a pity but I guess the guy led a jolly long life filled with gaming. *Envy*
